Pattern glass is also called figured glass or knurling glass. It is a kind of plate glass which is manufactured with rolling method. The manufacturing process is divided into single roller method and double roller method. Single roller method make the glass liquid poured into the calendering machine. The table can be made of cast iron or cast steel. Table or roller carved with patterns and the roller is rolling on the glass surface. Then embossed glass is sent to the annealing kiln. The double roller method can also divide into two kinds process. They are semi continuous rolling and continuous rolling. Glass liquid pulled forward into the annealing kiln with the roller rotation and through a pair of roll cooling. In general roll surface has concave and convex patterns and the upper roller is the polished roller.
The physicochemical properties of pattern glass is the same of ordinary transparent and plate glass. It has the features of translucent opaque. The glass can make the light soft. And it also has screen protection effect and decorative effect. Pattern glass is used for building indoor intervals and bathroom door and window or other occasion which needs blocked sight.
